Hair ventilation is the cornerstone of every high-quality hair system. At Lavivid Hair, we focus on providing ultra-realistic hairpieces that combine comfort, durability, and a natural look. In skin hair systems, the way hair is ventilated directly affects how knotless the hairline appears and how flexible the style can be.

Our PU (polyurethane) skin bases remain a favorite in 2025 for their soft texture, secure adhesion, and easy maintenance. When paired with advanced ventilation techniques, they replicate the look of hair growing directly from the scalp, delivering the most natural result for our clients.
This article explores four Lavivid skin hair system ventilation techniques, showing how each affects knot visibility, styling flexibility, and suitability for different skin thicknesses.

Understanding Skin Hair System Ventilation

Ventilation is the process of inserting individual hair strands into the base. Unlike lace hair systems, skin hair systems require techniques that minimize or eliminate visible knots, producing a flawless, natural hairline.
At Lavivid, our skin hair systems in 2025 are mainly ventilated using these four techniques:
  • V-Looped Hair
  • Normal (Flat) Injected Hair
  • Lift Injected Hair
  • Bleached Single-Split Knots
Each method has unique advantages and works best with specific skin thicknesses and hair lengths.

V-Looped Hair Ventilation

V-looped hair is exclusive to skin hair systems. Hair is pulled through a micro-hole and exits through another, forming a “V” shape beneath the base. No knots are tied, producing a 100% knotless hairline.
After ventilation, we apply a root-sealing layer of polyurethane to prevent shedding and ensure comfort against the scalp.
Advantages:
  • Natural lift at the roots
  • Hair can be ventilated anywhere on the base
  • High styling freedom
V-looped systems are ideal for clients who prefer natural styles like brushed-back hair or casual waves.

Injected Skin Hair Systems

Injected hair systems involve punching hair directly into the skin base. Unlike V-looping, the hair sits inside the PU, offering a smooth, knotless surface.
⚠ Important: Only skin bases ≥0.08 mm can hold injected hair securely.
Injected hair is available in two styles:

Normal (Flat) Injected Hair

Hair is punched into the base and the roots are ironed flat on the underside. This method ensures longevity and works well for short, neat hairstyles like buzz or crew cuts.
Pros: Durable, low-maintenance Cons: Hair direction is harder to change; limited styling flexibility

Lift Injected Hair

Lift injection trims roots shorter, leaving hair free to move naturally. A polyurethane layer is applied and the system is dried in a specialized oven. Unlike normal injection, roots are not ironed down, giving hair a more natural lift.
Pros: Flexible styling, highly natural look Cons: Shorter lifespan compared to normal injection

Bleached Single-Split Knots

Even ultra-thin bases (as thin as 0.03 mm) can now support single-split knots, which are nearly invisible when bleached. Hair is threaded through two tiny holes and tied with a single-split knot on the topside. This method combines knotless appearance with high durability and minimal shedding.
Advantages:
  • Almost invisible knots
  • Very low shedding
  • Compatible with thin skin bases

Choosing the Right Technique for Skin Thickness

Not all bases support all techniques. Hair length, density, and styling goals determine which ventilation method works best.
Skin Thickness Suitable Techniques Max Hair Length Durability
0.03 mm V-Looped, Single-Split Knots ≤ 10″ (25.4 cm) Medium
0.06–0.08 mm V-Looped ≤ 12″ (30 cm) Medium
≥ 0.08 mm V-Looped, Normal Injected, Lift Injected Unlimited Medium–High

Ultra-thin bases excel in realism but are limited in length and density. Thicker bases allow for longer, denser hair, providing more styling versatility and root security.

Final Thoughts

There is no single “best” ventilation method. At Lavivid, we help clients select a technique that balances realism, comfort, and durability:
  • Maximum realism: V-Looped or Lift Injected
  • Durability & easy maintenance: Normal Injected or Bleached Single-Split Knots
By understanding these four ventilation methods, professionals can guide clients toward a skin hair system that delivers a truly knotless appearance and effortless styling in 2025.
