Sweat, scalp oil and dust can all accumulate on the base of your hair system and its hairline after being worn over a certain period of time. When you begin to notice a greasy hairline or a strange smell, it may be time for you to remove it and thoroughly clean it. Today we are going to cover how you can clean skin and lace men hair systems easily.

When cleaning your hair system, it is important to take great care, especially if your hair system has an ultra-thin base, it is important to be gentle to prevent stretching or ripping of the base. When the base stretches, it can cause the front hairline to become misshapen.

To carefully clean your skin hair system, we recommend the following steps:

  1.     After you have gently removed your hair system, spray an adhesive remover onto the tapes still on the skin base and let them soak for 2-5 minutes
  2.     Next, use a small amount of dish washing liquid and water to clean any adhesive residue that may be on the skin base
  3.     Brush through the hair using a bristles comb to remove any tangles. Comb the hair in one direction, either from the front to the back or from the back to the front.
  4.     Rinse the hair and base with mildly warm water.
  5.     Apply a proper amount of shampoo onto the hair. Work the shampoo into a lather on the hair. Then rinse off with warm water.
  6.     Then apply a conditioner to make the hair softer and help with tangles. Apply it to your hands first, and then apply to the hair only, avoiding getting any on the base or roots (any conditioner residue prevents the tape from sticking well on the base)
  1.     Finally, rinse the conditioner out of the hair with mildly warm water
  2.     Use a towel to gently dab on the hair to absorb the water
  3.     Finally, place your hair system on a mannequin head to let it airdry or alternatively blow dry it

Your lace hair system needs to be cleaned if: 1) It is a brand new lace hair system, or 2) You have worn it for 2 to 3 weeks.

For a brand new lace hair system, a layer of silicone usually remains on the base from when it was made in the factory. The silicone is applied to protect the hair and keep the base in good condition. However, the silicone prevents tape and glue from effectively sticking. It is recommended to wash the base before applying it to your head.

When you wash a worn lace hair system, you can also follow these steps:

  1.     Apply a small amount of dish washing liquid and water onto the base and rub it gently. The dish washing liquid should not contain any softener or hand lotion in it.
  2.     Rinse the base and hair with mildly warm water.
  3.     Apply a small amount of shampoo on the hair. Work the shampoo into a lather on the hair. Then rinse off with warm water.
  4.     Then apply a conditioner to make the hair softer and help with tangles. Apply it to your hands first, and then apply to the hair only, avoiding getting any on the base or roots (any conditioner residue prevents the tape from sticking well on the base)
  5.     Finally, rinse the conditioner out of the hair with mildly warm water
  6.     Use a towel to gently dab on the hair to absorb the water

Then after the base is dry, you can go through the installation process of applying and styling your hair system to your head.
