Hair loss treatment for men

Hair loss is thinning of human hair from part the body or scalp, which can be either permanent or temporary. The loss develops gradually with age in both women and men, but it is more common in men than women. It is a condition that commonly runs in the family, and it can result in depression and loss of confidence to men, especially in the society that associates hair with health and youth. Below is some treatment of hair loss in men.

Types of hair loss treatment

•Reducing stress

Stress-reducing strategies such as regular exercise reduce hair loss of hair because stress forces a large number of follicles into a resting phase, which with time, causes hair to suddenly fall out when combing, pulling, or washing the hair. The follicular unit transplant(FUT) is a hair restoration procedure, also known as strip procedure, which involves removing some skin from the back of the scalp where there is a lot of hair and reinserting the hair follicles to the part of the scalp where it is experiencing hair loss.

Follicular unit extraction(FUE) is a technique of hair transplant surgery that involves manually removing hair follicles from the scalp of the patient and transplant it to the bald or thinning parts of the scalp. It is also known as a follicular transfer.

•Quit smoking

Nicotine, which is a component of tobacco, damages hair follicles during smoking, which not only hinders the circulation of blood and hormones in the scalp but also increases the level of androgen, which leads to hair loss. Nicotine also stimulates the body system to increase the secretion of dopamine that promotes the flow of adrenaline, which increases the secretion of oil, hence severely blocking the hair follicle from accessing air, which affects metabolism and disrupts the environment In which the hair grows leading to hair loss.

•Balance diet

A proper balance diet helps to keep a tip-top hair shape. Including a variety of fruits, grains, fats, vegetables, and proteins in the diet helps to maintain hair growth. There are some variety of minerals and vitamins found in the food which are associated with healthy hair. The following are some types of food which help to encourage hair growth ;

•Omega-3 fatty acids food such as tuna, hemp seeds, walnuts, salmon, flax, egg yolks, and mackerel.

•Food rich in proteins like seafood, eggs, and lean meat.

•Food rich in iron, which includes beans,iron-fortified grains, eggs, lean beef, and green leafy vegetables.

•Drinking plenty of water

When the hair lacks water, it dries out and gets curled hence making it difficult for the hair to grow. Water is a root source of energy for the cells responsible for hair growth; therefore, taking plenty of it encourages hair growth. Water is also highly nutritious, and it contains essential minerals that are needed for hair growth. Hence drinking plenty off it is the easiest way to ensure that the hair and the cells responsible for hair growth get all necessary nutrients to maintain healthy hair.

•Check up

Apart from genetics, several medical conditions lead to hair loss. Through checkup, one can be able to address the situation responsible for his hair loss. The following are conditions that can lead to loss of hair; iron deficiency anemia, lupus, sarcoidosis, diabetes, etc.

•Rubbing Green tea into hair

Polyphenolic compounds present in green tea have a natural remedy for hair loss. Brewing two bags of tea in one cup of water and after that applying it into your hair helps to reduce the amount of hair loss in humans. The result can be seen after the practice is done regularly for a week to ten days.

•Avoiding brushing wet hair

Hair is in the weakest when it is wet. Brushing wet hair too frequently increases the chances of injuring hair and hair loss. Avoiding brushing wet hair reduces chances of hair loss, but if it is a must for one to comb a wet hair, he/she must use a wide-toothed comb to avoid injuring the hair. It is also important to use fingers to undo tangles, not a comb or a brush.

•Avoiding Constant heating & drying of hair

Heat is the most outstanding reason why hair might be falling out.hot styling tools such as curling, straighteners, wands, and hairdryers can make the hair to be dry hence prone to breakage and consequently more likely to fall out. It is highly recommended to use heated hair tools that have a temperature gauge that can lower temperature to a level that will cause less stress to the hair shaft.

•Keeping away from chemicals

Some permanent hair color products and harsh chemicals can lead to sudden and permanent damage to the hair follicles; therefore, it is highly recommended to limit the use of highlights, dyes, perms, and peroxide treatments.
